Skin tags

Skin tags (fibroma) are small pieces of skin, which may have a peduncle. They are very common and can develop at any age in both, men and women.

Mostly they tend to occur on the eyelids, neck, armpits, groin folds and under breasts. Skin tags can be of different sizes and colours, depending on the accumulation of melamine. A skin tag is often harmless (benign) but can be annoying. They develop primarily where skin rubs against skin or clothing, where we sweat most and they can get irritated, however, susceptibility may also be genetic. As they are not caused by an infection, skin tags are not contagious unlike warts. For the reasons outlined, most doctors recommend their removal.

Laser removal is the most modern and an effective way how to get rid of skin tags. The treatment will only take a few minutes, it is painless and non-invasive. Your doctor will assess your skin and determine whether your skin tags are suitable for laser removal or other non-invasive method.

Treatment options

  • Laser
  • Electrocauter
  • Cryotherapy
